OVER FORTY MILLION NAIRA INTERCEPTED AT THE KADUNA AIRPORT BY THE EFCC.
Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC Kaduna Zonal Office has intercepted forty-nine million naira at the Kaduna Airport. The money was packed in five large black one hundred and fifty kilogramme coloured bag.
The Head, Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Mr. Wilson Uwujare said the interception was carried out following a tip off.
Mr. Uwujare disclosed that the five sacks were cited unattended to and without tags containing fresh bulk item suspected to be money during a routine screening .
Upon examination, the bags were found to contain fresh scripts of two hundred naira denomination in twenty bundles totaling forty million naira and fifty naira denomination in one hundred and eighty bundles totaling nine million naira.
He alleged that the label sealed pack indicated that the money purportedly emanated from the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting.
According to him, investigation into the case is on to unravel the culprit behind the attempted illegal movement of the cash.
