INVESTIGATION INTO THE CAUSE OF ALLEGED DEATH OF A TEN YEAR OLD BOY AT EKEUKWU MARKET, OWERRI COMMENCES

okorocha-300x277Imo State Government has commenced an investigation into the cause of alleged death of a ten year old boy during the demolition of Ekeukwu Market in Owerri. Governor Rochas Okorocha who briefed newsmen at the end of Security Council meeting in Owerri, said a postmortem would be carried out to know the actual cause of the death.

The meeting which was held behind closed door had in attendance the Brigade Commander Thirty-four Artillery Brigade, Commandant 211 Regiment Group Owerri, Director, State Security Service, the Commissioner of Police, the Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps as well as top Government Officials. Governor Okorocha however said that the essenceof the meeting was to look into security challenges in the State and find a lasting solution to them.

According him, no law of the State allows the location of a market, five kilometers from the Government House. He said the State Government had made an adequate arrangement to build Security Post in all the markets and warned political elites in the State to desist from carrying rumour.

Governor Okorocha gave next week Tuesday as deadline for Tricycle Operators also known as Keke Napep to stop plying the Capital City of Owerri.
