GOV. OKOROCHA – CREATION OF MINISTRY OF INTER RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS TO CURB HATE SPEECHES

Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo state has appealed to the Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries of the Federation to adjust to the vision of Governors in their various States at any given time for better understanding. He made the call when the Heads of Service and Permanent Secretaries of the thirty six States of the Federation and FCT paid him a courtesy call in Government House, Owerri.

He urged them to think first for the nation and think less of the character of the Governors and those in authority. Governor Okorocha said the nation expected so much from them, noting that what they needed was sacrifice. He advised them to show leadership quality in their States and avoid unnecessary protocols and bureaucracy.

Governor Okorocha charged them to make people under them happy. He called for establishment of Ministry of Inter Religious Affairs to curb hate speeches in the country. Earlier, the Leader of the Delegation and Head of Service of the Federation, Mrs Winifred Oyo-Ita said they were in Owerri for their Fortieth National Council of Establishment, NCE meeting.

Mrs Oya-Ita stressed that the Technical Sections of the meeting would review the recommendations of various issues brought before them. She emphasized that the National Council of Establishment would come up with a communiqué during the meeting. Highlights of the Visit were the official opening of the Conference and Presentation of gift to the Governor.
