FUND FOR PAYMENT OF ARREARS OWED PENSIONERS IN ENUGU RELEASED…NULGE

Enugu mapOver two hundred Local Government Pensioners including the relations of the deceased ones from Nsukka Local Government Area of Enugu State, have received their welfare packages from the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE.

Speaking during the disbursement of the funds in the area, the State President of the Union, Comrade Kenneth Ugwueze said it was in line with the tradition of the Union to assist their retired members.

He announced that the State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi had released funds for the payment of arrears of pension owed to Local Government Pensioners in the State, noting that the payment would commence soon.

The Chairman of the Disbursement Committee and State Deputy President of NULGE, Comrade Udoagha Ani explained that the money came from the little deduction made from the salaries of the beneficiaries while in active service and reassured them of adequate support from the Union.

Some of the beneficiaries while commending the leadership of the Union for remembering them, said that the cash meant a lot to them.

In a remark, the Transition Chairman, Nsukka Local Government Area, Professor Rose Onah, described the gesture from the NULGE as encouraging and urged them to keep supporting the State Government policies.
