CHARLEY BOY LEADS MARCH AGAINST INJUSTICE AND CORRUPTION
A social crusader and popular Nigerian artiste, Mr. Charles Oputa says the nation’s quest for a just and corrupt free society may remain a mirage unless citizens hold those in positions of authority accountable to the people.
Mr. Oputa popularly known as “Charley Boy” expressed the view while addressing journalists in Owerri during a rally organized by youths to protest what they described as bad leadership in all levels of government.
He said rather than fold their hands and lament over some unpopular policies of the government youths should get more active in the affairs of the nation to safeguard their future.
Mr. Oputa identified corruption as the greatest enemy of the masses and vowed to mobilize the youths against re-electing corrupt public officials in 2019.
Correspondent reports that the youths led by “Charley Boy” marched along the streets of Owerri with placards highlighting the ills of the society.
