The State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Adeleye Oyebade made this known to newsmen while parading the suspects in Umuahia.
He noted that the command in its determination to rid the state of criminal elements had embarked on numerous proactive measures to nip crime in the bud.
CP Oyebade said that most of the suspects were arrested at various locations in the state through tip off.
He gave the names of some of the suspects as Chigemezu Uzoije, Uche Echela, Tochukwu Ugwunsi, Chibuike Uzodinma, Eze Udo and Tochukwu Ukonu.
Others were Ugochukwu Ude and Chukwuma Ononogbo whom according to Police specialized in removing vehicles from where they were parked.
The Commissioner of Police commended the people in their efforts towards providing vital information to the Police and warned criminals to stay away from the state as his men were battle ready to deal decisively with anyone caught in criminal act.
In an interview, two of the suspects, Eze Udo and Chigemezu Uzoije denied being involved in any crime claiming that they were in their houses when the Police arrested them.
Items allegedly recovered from the suspects included two Mercedes Benz V-Boot cars believed to have being snatched from their owners, One Plasma television, One locally made pistol, one double barrel gun, 46 live cartridges, 13 different ATM cards belonging to different victims and military camouflage.
