NWIFURU ASSURES NEW YOUTH CORPS MEMBERS OF SAFETY ACROSS EBONYI

Two thousand and fifty 2023 Batch C, Stream II National Youth Service Corps members have commenced their three weeks orientation course in Ebonyi State.

At their swearing in ceremony at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Old Macgregor College Afikpo, Governor Francis Nwifuru in a message, charged the corps members to see Ebonyi State as their new home and make up their mind to contribute their quota to the development of the state.

Represented by the State Commissioner for Sports and Youth Development, Mr. Richard Idike, the Governor stressed the need for cooperation and team work among corps members and urged them to shun nepotism, corruption and tribalism to enable the nation to make the desired progress.

Governor Nwifuru assured them of support and security wherever they may be posted to in the state, emphasising that the state government was committed to rewarding corps members who distinguished themselves during the year.

The State Coordinator of the Scheme, Mrs. Oladeinde Foluke, urged the corps members to take every aspect of the Orientation Course very seriously by participating actively especially in the NYSC Skill Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED) Programme.

She pointed out that the Orientation Course was packaged to instill discipline and sense of reliance needed to enable the corps members to face challenges during and after the service year.

The Chief Judge of the state, Justice Elvis Ngene, represented by Justice Nicholas Nwode, administered oath of allegiance to the corps members.
