Rangers Stay Top Of The Nigeria Professional Football League After Week 9 Clash Against Enyimba

IMG-20160329-WA0004Nigeria Professional Football League entered week 9 on Sunday 27th march 2016 as Rangers International FC battled Enyimba FC at Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium in an oriental derby.

Radio Nigeria ran a live commentary of the game as commentators Andrew Nnebedum, Nduka Obikwela and Willy Nwanyanwo gave an accurate analysis of the match.

10 man Rangers Int. came from one goal down to beat Enyimba 2-1 to retain the top of the log with 17 points from 9 matches. Godwin Aguda got the equalizer from Rangers while Chisom Egbuchulam ensured the flying antelopes won the game.

In other week 9 results sunshine stars beat shooting stars 2-1 to record their first win of the season. Former champion Kano Pillars secured a 2-0 win against FC Ifeanyi Ubah at Sanni Abacha Stadium.Warri Wolves and Lobi Stars battled to a barren draw at the Warri City stadium.

In Jos, Plateau United who are the only side yet to keep a clean sheet in the NPFL this season held MFM FC to a 1-1 draw. Abia Warriors maintained their unbeaten streak as they beat Niger Tornadoes 1-0. El-Kanemi Thrashed Nasarawa United 3-0 in Katsina.

Rivers United picked their first away win of the season courtesy of a 3-2 victory against Ikorodu United at Onikan Stadium, Lagos. Akwa United went three games without scoring, their longest goal drought since May 2015 following a 0-0 draw against Wikki Tourists. Heartland saw of Giwa Fc 2-0 at Dan Anyiam stadium in Owerri.
