President Buhari Congratulates Nigerian-Born Heavyweight Champion
President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Mr. Anthony Femi Joshua a Nigeria-born British citizen who recently emerged as IBF World Heavy-Weight Champion.
The commendation came through a statement by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Diaspora and foreign relations, Mr. Abike Dabiri-Erewa who said that Joshua’s victory reflected his hard work and tireless dedication.
Joshua is the second boxer in history to win a Professional World Heavyweight title doubling as the Olympic champion at the top weight.
He will make the first defence of his title on 25th June against American Dominic Breazeale at London’s O2 Arena.
