STATE PRESIDENTS OF OHANEZE NDIGBO THROW WEIGHT BEHIND ATIKU/OBI PRESIDENTIAL TICKET

State Presidents of Ohaneze Ndigbo have appealed to all registered voters of Igbo extraction within and outside Igbo land to support the Atiku/Obi ticket in the coming elections.

In a communiqué at the end of their meeting in Enugu, the state presidents of the apex Igbo socio cultural organization noted that Atiku/Obi was the only ticket that met the conditions of the ten point demands by Ndigbo as contained in the Ekwueme Square Awka declaration of 2018.

They maintained that Ndigbo would be better off in a restructured Nigeria where power was devolved to the federating units.

The State Presidents of Ohaneze Ndigbo pointed that any attempt by any Igbo person or group to retract from this Igbo position was not acceptable.

They also condemned any call by any group for Ndigbo to boycott the coming elections, pointing out that the tragedy of MASSOB’s call for boycott of 2006 census was still haunting Igbo people.

They called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security agencies to ensure free, fair, credible and transparent elections to save Nigeria from post election crises
