MAKE THE NEEDS OF THE MASSES YOUR PRIORITY – ANEKE TELLS IN COMING MINISTERS

Callers on Political Watch, a Radio Nigeria Enugu Zonal Programme have stressed the need for portfolio to be attached to each ministerial nominee before screening to allow the people and the senator to access their suitability for the positions.

Some of the callers, including Comrade Marcel Enechi, noted that the use of permanent secretaries in running of ministries would be more result oriented and while Mr. Chima Okoroafor described the screening by the senate as not thoroughly done.

A guest on the programme, the Programme Manager Advocacy Partnership for Good Governance and Convener Office of the Citizen Enugu State, Comrade Onyebuchi Igboke, advocated that ministries should not be lumped up to make their administration easy.

Another guest, Dr. Ignis Ngene, said that ministerial positions were creation of law, which must be respected.

For the wife of the Anglican Bishop Enugu North Dioceses, Mrs. Faith Chukwunenye Eze, the church had been lending its voice in condemning security failures in the country and appealed to the political leaders to equip security agencies properly to enable them to contain insecurity in parts of the country

The Deputy Director, Medical Laboratories Sciences University of Nigeria Nsukka, Mr. James Aneke, called on the people to be patriotic in their comments about the nation’s leadership and urged the incoming ministers and others at the positions of authority to make the interest of the masses a priority at all times.
