INEC DISTRIBUTES SENSITIVE MATERIALS IN ANAMBRA STATE AS PDP, AGAP FAULT THE PROCESS

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has commenced the distribution of sensitive materials for the rescheduled Presidential and National Assemly elections in Anambra State.

The exercise which began at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) premises, Awka, involved the distribution of ballot papers and result sheets to INEC Local Government offices in the state.

The INEC Resident Electoral Commissioner in the State, Dr. Nkwachukwu Orji, who addressed journalists, also disclosed that the Smart Card Readers were being delivered to all the Local Government Areas.

He noted that the card readers were enough for all the polling units and other voting points, while some were reserves for emergencies.

Dr. Orji stressed that all the logistics, including adhoc and security personnel had been properly arranged to ensure the success of the rescheduled polls.

However, the Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, Chief Ndubuisi Nwobu, alleged that INEC did not disclose the items listed before the process of distribution and claimed that the House of Representatives ballot papers were not serialized.

The Agent of the All Grand Alliance Party (AGAP), Mr. Ken Arinze, alleged that the commission refused to  avail them with the documents for the retrieval of the materials for authentication.
