ENUGU STATE 2019 APPROPRIATION BILL SCALES THROUGH 2ND READING

The Enugu State 2019 appropriation bill has passed second reading.

This followed deliberation and adoption of order paper of the State House of Assembly as presented by the Leader of the House, Chief Ikechukwu Ezugwu.

The Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi had on December 17, presented a budget estimate of over 109 billion naira to the State House of Assembly for consideration.

The House commence deliberation bill after its Leader, Chief Ikechukwu Ezeugwu went down memory lane on the technical component of the appropriation, urging members to give it accelerated hearing.

Chief Ezeugwu while addressing the house explained that the budget estimate was designed to boost socio economic and infrastructural well being of the residence of the State.

He pointed out that all the Ministries, Department and Agencies of the Government had a fair share of resources that would accelerate development in the State.

The Speaker of the House, Chief Edward Ubosi commended members of the house for their commitment to duty.

He urged the various committees to commence budget defence with the Ministries and Departments under their supervision without delay.

Chief Ubosi also described the budget as comprehensive and strategic.

It was observed that the house was a beehive of activities as various committee had commenced budget defence with the MDAs.

The House Committee on Finance and Appropriation was directed to collate the committees’ reports and submit within two days.
