ELECTORATES TOLD TO CHECK THE PRELIMNARY REGISTER FOR ACCURATE DATA

The Independent National Electoral Commission, in Anambra State says that the display of the preliminary register of the third quarter registration for claims and objections which commenced on the fourth of this month at all INEC local Government Offices is ongoing and will end on Saturday this week.

In a statement, the Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity in the commission, Mr. Leo Nkedife advised those who registered during the period to avail themselves of the opportunity to cross check whether their names were on the register, correctly spelt, omitted and make necessary claims and objections for corrections.

Our Correspondent reports that Mr. Nkedife also advised members of public that the collection of permanent voter cards was still ongoing and would end a week before the 2019 general election in the country.

 Meanwhile registered voters in Enugu state who are yet to collect their Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC, are advised to go and get their cards to participate actively in the 2019 elections.

The Coordinator of the Voters’ Support Group, VSG, for Gburugburu, Mr. Ignatius Ishienyi, made the call during an awareness campaign to sensitize residents with Temporary Voters card to the need to collect their permanent cards.

Mr. Ignatius Ishienyi expressed satisfaction with the turnout of eligible voters in Enugu state during the just concluded extension of the continuous voters’ registration by INEC.

The road show which witnessed turn out of people who dressed in branded T-shirts with face caps among other items chanted different songs during the march.
