ELECTION IN PROGRESS IN ENUGU STATE

The Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi arrived at the his polling unit at about 9:30 am in the morning.

At about 9:34, the governor cast his vote in Orba Ward two, Amube one, polling unit 007, Orba Udenu Local Government Area after which he addressed the journalists, who stormed the venue of the polling units to monitor the election.

“Enugu State is in the hands of God, in all we do, we give God due glory, honor and adoration; by the Special grace of God this election will end in praise”, he said.

Mr. Uche Nnadi who identified himself as the Ohom Orba ward two, pooling booth manager said the process was prompt and other safety measures were taken to avoid card reader malfunction.

An election observer, Chief Hyginus Ghaboh, commended INEC for the early arrival of materials and commencement of vote at the unit.

He expressed his concerns about those whose voters card had broken.

Two voters, Mrs. Mary Onah and Mr. Ernest Onyebuchi, said the process was free and fair.

Correspondent Chukwuma Ezeogu reports that the polling unit houses two polling units, under Orba Ward two, Amube one and two, with total registered voters of one thousand, nine hundred and fifty.

The accreditation and voting, which commenced by 8 am, had a massive turnout of both the young and old to cast their votes.
