DEPUTY LEADER OF IGBO-ETITI LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL IMPEACHED
The Deputy Leader of Igbo-Etiti Legislative Council, in Enugu State, Mr Chidera Nwodo representing Ukehe Ward 11 has been impeached for allegedly exhibiting conducts which are embarrassing to the council.
A resolution for his impeachment was signed by fourteen out of twenty member legislative council.
Presenting the resolution at the council’s plenary, the Majority Leader, Mr Chukwudi Nwafor condemned the attitudes of the impeached Deputy Leader, claiming that he disobeyed the directive of the Governor of the State, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi which could cause confusion in the area.
Also contributing, the Deputy Majority Leader of the Council, Mr Obinna Ozoemena said the action of the councilors was to bring sanity and sustain the good working relationship with the executive arm of the council aimed at providing meaningful development to the people.
When contacted, the embattled Deputy Leader of the House, Mr Chidera Nwodo said he had not been communicated on the development.
Some other councilors including the Deputy Chief Whip, Mr Charles Okobo commended the Chairman of the Council, Chief Malachi Agbo and Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for their purposeful leadership.
