BUHARI PROMISES TO SIGN INTO LAW “NOT TOO YOUNG TO RUN BILL”

The “Not Too Young to Run Bill” passed by the National Assembly is to be signed into law.

President Muhammadu Buhari announced this in a broadcast to mark the nation’s Democracy Day.

The President, who described the Day as celebration of freedom, salute to resilience and determination of Nigerians as well as government recommitment to keep its promises, said public safety and security remained the primary concern of the Federal Government.

President Buhari stated that the government was determined to win the war against corruption and urged well meaning Nigerians to support the fight.

He stated that the government was focused on revamping ailing economy inherited in 2015 and that efforts were in progress to resettle internally displaced persons in their homes as all tiers of government were presently engaged with communities and religious organization to end herdsmen-farmers clashes to restore peaceful co-existence among Nigerians.

President Buhari restated government’s commitment to implementing the comprehensive peace, security and development plan in Niger Delta and intolerance as they celebrate the country’s democratic experience.
