The Imo State Government has commenced payment of N10,000.00 monthly stipend to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state.

The State Governor, Chief Hope Uzodimma, while giving the approval recently, noted that gesture was to encourage the graduates to contribute positively towards the development of the state and Nigeria at large.

Governor Uzodimma gave an assurance that his administration would continue to accord priority to the welfare of the corps members to enable them render selfless service to the country.

The Governor charged the beneficiaries to remain dedicated, disciplined and committed towards impacting positively on the lives of their host communities.

The State Coordinator of the NYSC, Mrs. Rachel Idaewor, commended the state government for its support to the scheme and expressed the optimism that the gesture would further motivate the corps members.

Some Corps members, Celina Iyoyo and Mathew Makanjuola, who confirmed receipt of the N10,000.00 stipend thanked Governor Uzodimma for paying them a state allowance and promised to reciprocate the gesture through effective service.
