TRICYCLE OPERATORS IN ENUGU STATE TO OBTAIN DRIVERS PERMIT

ate Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, has approved the introduction of drivers permit for tricycle operators in the state.
He has also promised to accommodate graduates in motorcycle business during subsequent employment.
The Governor made the remark in separate solidarity rallies by tricycle and motorcycle associations at Michael Okpara Square Enugu.
Chief Ugwuanyi, who commended the operators for their conduct and to ensuring the safety of the people of the state, urged them to remain committed in collaborating with the security agencies for adequate security in the state.
According to the Commissioner for Transport, Mr. Vitus Okechi, the drivers permit has been adopted by some states and would contribute to the Internally Generated Revenue, IGR of the state.
The chairman tricycle association in the state, Comrade Ikah Benjamin Ejiofor, commended the Governor for the approval and explained that the Federal Government Drivers License was expensive for some of them.
The State Coordinator of Okada Riders Association, Mr. Charles Achime, also commended the governor for his regard for the downtrodden and appealed for the consideration of some graduates an employment opportunity.
Over ten thousand tricycle and motorcycle riders in the state were present at the event.
