TRADERS IN THE NEW MARKET ENUGU LAMENT DEMOLITION OF THEIR SHOPS
Some traders at the Aria Market also known as New Market are now counting their loses following the demolition of their shops by the Enugu State Capital Territory Development Authority.
Two of the traders Messer’s Godson Eneh andOnyekachiNwachioke who claimed to be mostly affected by the action said that the period of notice given to them was tooshort for them to be able to relocate.
Another trader, Mr. Basil Achegbu who also condemned the action alleged that no notice was given him before the demolition.
Reacting, the Chairman Enugu Capital Territory Development Authority, Mr.NnanyeluguChidiAro said the demolition was in line with the plan by the state government to give the state a face lift, insisting that the occupants of the illegal structures were duly notified.
