THREE IMO LEGISLATORS SUSPENDED
Three members of the Imo State House of Assembly have been suspended indefinitely for allegedly engaging in what the House described as un-parliamentary activities.
They are Mr. Lawman Duruji of the APC, representing Ehime-Mbano Constituency, Mrs. Ngozi Obiefule also of the APC, representing Isu Constituency and Mr. Obinna Egu of the PDP representing Ngo Okpala Constituency.
The Speaker of the House, Chief Acho Ihim announced the suspension shortly after an argument with one of the lawmakers, Mr. Duruji.
The lawmaker had insisted on presenting a motion to the House despite the refusal of the Speaker to allow him address the Parliament.
The content of the motion is not yet clear to newsmen.
Efforts to get the reaction of the suspended lawmakers was unsuccessful as they declined comments to newsmen.
The twenty-seven member House is dominated by the All progressives Congress, APC with twenty-one lawmakers.
The House later adjourned plenary to Thursday next week.
