The police command in Anambra State says it has commenced investigation into the death of twin brothers in Egbu Umuenem village, Otolo Nnewi.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Haruna Muhammed, told Radio Nigeria that security men would leave no stone unturned to make sure that the perpetrators were brought to book.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the 6 year old twin brothers , Peter and Paul onwe were found dead in an abandoned freezer in their apartment in Nnewi over the weekend.

Residents of Egbu umuenem village ,  Otolo Nnewi community were thrown into confusion following the discovery of corpses of twin brothers.

According to some respondents, the boys were asked by their mother Mrs. Onwe, who was in her shop situated closer to their residence, to got to home and pull off their school uniform before returning to the shop.

One of their neighbours ,  Mr. Gregory Ezenwa narrated that after waiting and not seeing them return, their mother hurriedly went home searching for them but could not find them .

Mr. Ezenwa said the development caused panic in the entire area as they all raised alarm and searched all nooks and crannies with no success.

He went further to say that it was at about four o’clock Saturday morning that the children’s mother heard sound on an abandoned freezer inside their apartment only to open it and  found her twin boys dead with foam substance in their mouths.

Mr Ezenwa, who said they were still confused about what could have happened to the vibrant twins, called on security agents to unravel the mystery behind what he described as an abomination.

Another resident and eye witness, Mrs. Chizoba Chukwuma, recalled how playful and respectful the boys were and appealed to government to give them justice by getting to the root cause of their death.

When contacted on telephone,  the Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Command, Mr. haruna mohammed, said investigation had commenced into the incident despite the prayer of the parents that police should stay out of the matter.

Mr. and Mrs. Nwachukwu Onwe, who are said to be indigenes of Ebonyi State,  have since taken Peter and Paul home for burial.
