SIT AT HOME: POLICE PARADE 15 SUSPECTED HOODLUMS TERRORIZING EBONYI RESIDENTS

Police in Ebonyi State have arrested fifteen suspected hoodlums, including a pastor, for alleged involvement in the enforcement of illegal sit at home declared by a dissident separatist group in Abakaliki.
The suspects, who were said to have participated in terrorizing some parts of the state with sporadic gun shots, burnt a Police Patrol Van in Ukwuagba, Ohaukwu Local Government Area and Tricycles at Isieke in Ebonyi Local Government Area.
In a statement shortly after parading the suspects at the Police Headquarters Abakaliki, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) in the State, Mrs. Onome Onovwakpoyeya, explained that the suspects were tracked down at their shrine located in Ndiagu Iyiogbe Ohaukwu.
The statement further noted that another core member of the outlawed separatist group known as Nwadike was also arrested by the Operatives of the Command in Ezzamgbo.
Items allegedly recovered from the suspects included two number plates of a vehicle, one locally made revolver, three red cloths and a bag of charms.
Others were a live kite tied with charm, a bottle of local body enhancement and three live ammunition.
