SHOWERS OF PRAISE AS UGWUANYI INAUGURATES MILLIKEN HILL ROAD

The 12 kilometer New Market -Milliken Hill – Ngwo-Ekochi- 9th mile road has been inaugurated by the Enugu State Governor, Chief Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi.

The road, which was adorned with streetlights, witnessed its biggest face-lift since its construction in 1909.

The road is an alternative route for travelers plying the Enugu – Onitsha expressway.

Inaugurating the road amid excitement from residents of the state and road users, Governor Ugwuanyi pointed out that the project was a great asset and rich heritage of the coal city state.

The Governor, who also inaugurated the Ebonyi River Bridge in Ikem community, Isi-Uzo Local Government Area and the Obollo Eke – Agala – Okpaligbo road in Udenu Local Government Area, said the projects were to fulfill his administration’s grassroots development initiatives.

The Commissioner for Works and Infrastructure, Mr. Greg Nnaji, said the projects, which were delivered within the stipulated construction window, would alleviate the sufferings of users and indigenous members of the areas.

The Local Government Council Chairman of Isi-Uzo, Mr. Benjamin Edeoga, thanked the governor for the project.

Members of the benefiting communities came out in their numbers and were filled with joy, following the year long sufferings occasioned by difficulties they passed through during the execution of the projects and when the roads were in very bad condition.

Other speakers at the events including, the youth, men and women in the areas were also full of thanks to the Governor for his commitment to the wellbeing of the people of State.
