SENATOR GIL. NNAJI WINS AT THE SUPREME COURT

The Supreme Court has affirmed the nomination and election of Senator Gilbert Emeka Nnaji representing Enugu East Senatorial District in the 2015 National Assembly Primary election.

The court in unanimous decision on Friday (July 20th) dismissed the application of Chief Frank Nweke Junior saying that Senator Nnaji was duly nominated by the People’s Democratic Party in the 2015 National Assembly Primary.

Chief Frank Nweke, a former Minister of Information, had been challenging the nomination of Senator Nnaji, claiming that he was the winner of the said primary election conducted by the PDP in 2015.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Senator Gilbert Nnaji while reacting to the verdict thanked the state PDP faithful for their support alongside the judiciary, noting that the decision had no doubt strengthened faith in the judiciary as a defender of rule of law.

Senator Nnaji pledged preparedness to remain focused and leave no stone unturned in ensuring quality representation to his people urging them to remain confident to the party for more sustainable development.
