According to him the visit will also afford the committee the opportunity to interact with the people with a view to identifying their areas of needs as the Senate would soon consider this year’s NDDC Appropriation bill.
Senator ‎Nwaoboshi expressed dissatisfaction with the attitude of some Contractors handling NDDC projects in Imo State and warned that those who failed to justify the monies given to them by government would be compelled to refund them.
The Imo State Governor Ow‎elle Rochas Okorocha used the forum to appeal to the NDDC to partner the state government in rehabilitating Owerri – Okigwe road which he said had claimed many lives.
He also solicited the assistance of the Commission in constructing road linking the multi billion naira Ohaji Egbema Industrial Park‎ being Executed by the State government under Private public partnership.
Governor Okorocha urged the Senate Committee on NDDC to ensure that those who absconded with funds meant for NDDC projects were prosecuted to serve as deterrent to others who might want to defraud the government.
