Governor Obiano agreed that the lawmakers needed befitting offices to enable them to make quality laws for good governance.
He commended them for their harmonious working relationship with the executive,which made it possible for them to pass this year’s budget without any delay.
In a speech,the Speaker of the House Mrs Rita Maduagwu explained that since the creation of the state in 1991,the lawmakers had been operating without offices,a situation which prompted the governor to embark on the construction of the office complex
Mrs Maduagwu assured the governor that they would continue to collaborate with him in the task of taking the state to an enviable height.
Earlier,the Clerk of the House Mr Pius Udoh said ,with a conducive environment in place,the lawmakers could now discharge their duties creditably.
Mr Udoh stated that the contract for the construction of the project was awarded by the past administration.
