SELFLESS LEADERSHIP ADVOCATED FOR SUSTAINABLE PEACE IN THE COUNTRY

Rotary-ClubLeadership based on selfless service has been identified as key to building goodwill and peace in the society.

A lecturer of Communication, Professor Nick Idoko stated this at the installation of the 11th President of Rotary Club of Enugu, G.R.A. Rotarian Aloy Chukwuma Eze.

The installation of Rotarian Aloy Chukwu Eze witnessed by relations, friends and members of Rotary club of Enugu GRA, began with the ceremonial calling of the house to order by the outgoing president and flag parade, with members chanting Rotary Prayer.

Speaking on the theme of the 2017/2018 Rotary year under the leadership of the new president, “Rotary Making a Difference” Professor Nick Idoko noted that it entailed touching lives by adding value to the wellbeing of communities and making the world a better place.

The outgone President, Mr Chuks Obiweluozor said Rotary Club of Enugu GRA had improved on lives of many in the area of maternal and child health education, conflict resolution, and disease prevention and treatment.

The newly installed president, Rotarian Aloy Chukwuma Eze while describing membership of Rotary as a humanitarian service, encouraged Nigerians to contribute their quota towards affecting the lives of the less privileged in the society.

He enumerated some of the projects they had embarked on and solicited support of spirited individuals in the area.

In an interview, a member of the club, Mrs Juliet Nwachukwu who eulogized the new president as a passionate Rotarian, commended the Zonal Director Radio Nigeria Enugu for his philanthropic work.

The ceremony featured award presentations to distinguished philanthropists, donation of wheel chairs and empowerment of some indigent persons.
