REMOVAL OF ALL BOTTLENECKS TO SPEEDY DISPENSATION OF JUSTICE ADVOCATED
The need for effective implementation of Administration of Criminal Justice law in Enugu state to ensure speedy dispensation of justice has been stressed.
This was the submission of discussants at the second meeting of the working Group monitoring the implementation of the law in the State facilitated by a Non-Governmental Organization, women information Network, WINET.
The Head discussant and Chairman of Nigeria Bar Association, Enugu State Branch, MrAneneOrjinta said that the law was meant to ensure that the process of getting justice conferred with world best practices.
The Chairperson of the meeting and Chairperson of FIDA Enugu State Chapter, Mrs Sylvia Abanah stated the law was aimed at filling necessary gaps in criminal justice delivery and called for removal of all impediments to its effective implementation.
Speaking on experiences in monitoring court processes by data collector, the Programme Manager, Women Information Network, Mrs IjeomaObinnaOnwuka said the greatest change was obtaining copies of court judgment.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the EFCC, ICPC, legal Aid Council and NYSC legal Unit among others.
