PREGNANT WOMAN, HER TWO CHILDREN BURNT TO DEATH

A pregnant woman and her two children have been burnt to death at Ihiala, in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State.

The incident which occurred over the weekend was said to have been caused by a tanker carrying petroleum product.

The driver of the truck lost control of the vehicle and rammed unto the barriers along the Onitsha Owerri expressway before going into flames.

It was gathered that the pregnant woman and her children were inside a house near a white garment Church owned by her husband who was not around when the fire consumed both the worship place and their house.

Radio Nigeria gathered that the man whose names was yet to be ascertained arrived home later to the chagrin of onlookers and started weeping over a python that was also burnt inside his church by the ragging fire.

Confirming the incident, the Director Anambra State Fire Service, Mr Martin Agili, said his men arrived the scene which is near Abbot Boys Secondary School, Ihiala after receiving a distress call from some concerned citizens.

Mr. Agbili noted that though they were able to contain the fire from entering other places, the woman and her children had been burnt before their arrival.

The remains of the pregnant woman and her two children had been deposited in a nearby morgue.
