POLICE IMPROVE CAPACITY OF PERSONNEL FOR OPTIMAL PERFORMANCE

The Nigeria Police are determined to improve the capacity of the personnel by exposing them to current trends in policing for optimal performance.

The Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris stated this in a message to a Step Down Training on Basic Course organized for officers in Enugu.

The Inspector General of Police who was represented by the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Administration,  Mr. Okpong Kpon said the training became expedient for the personnel to carry out their duties in a more democratic and friendly manner.

Mr. Idris said it was also important to improve collaboration with other security agencies and vigilante groups such as Neighbourhood Watch  to improve the security of the country.

The Focal Person for the programme in the State, an Assistant Commissioner of Police, Mr. Oliver Amechi explained that the training became important to examine the current method of policing with a view to improving it.

The Enugu State Command of the Nigeria Police is among the four focal states benefitting from the programme.
