POLICE COMMAND IN ANAMBRA STATE TO INTENSIFY RAIDS ON BLACK SPOTS

The Commissioner of Police in Anambra State, Mr. John Abang has directed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers and other striking units to intensify raids on black spots to ensure a peaceful Christmas and New year celebrations in the area.

In a statement, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Command, Mr. Haruna Mohammed, said the Commissioner of Police charged the officers to sustain the ongoing stop and search tactical operation duties and night patrols to deny miscreants and criminal elements the opportunity to operate within the State throughout the festive period.

Mr. Mohammed stated that the Commissioner of Police equally warned Police personnel including those attached to Very Important Personalities visiting the State during the yuletide to adhere strictly to the rules guiding the use of firearms as contained in the revised Force Order Two Hundred and Thirty Seven and also refrain from unauthorized sporadic shootings on air.

He noted that any officer found violating such order would be dealt with in accordance with the laid down procedure.

Mr. Abang advised parents and guardians to warn their children and wards to desist from purchasing and using knockouts, fire crackers, and other forms of fireworks as the law governing the sales, purchase and use of fireworks was still in force.
