The National Orientation Agency (NOA) in Imo State wants the people of Ahiazu Mbaise Local Government Area of the state to maintain peaceful co-existence with non-indigenes habiting in the area to ensure meaningful development.

A Deputy Director in the Agency, Mr. Nazzy Njoku, made the appeal at Ahiara, Ahiazu Mbaise during a motorized sensitization to the need to avoid rape, reduce spread of COVID-19 and maintaining peaceful co-existence.

He said the campaign was a follow-up to other efforts made by the NOA to end all forms of violence and sustain the peace enjoyed in the three local government areas of Mbaise, noting that the people of the south east were spread across the country.

Mr. Njoku, however, expressed worry over non compliance by some residents of the state to COVID-19 prevention protocol and cautioned against the continuous neglect of the use of face masks.

Mr. Njoku gave an assurance that the ongoing campaign by the Agency across the twenty-seven local government areas of the state was to combat community spread of corona virus. Most of the artisans seen during the campaign did not wear face masks, though were willing to collect fliers distributed by the NOA, which was done with the support of men of the WAI Brigade Volunteer Corps.
