Mr. Olusemire noted that one hundred and twenty six bales of used clothes were also intercepted along Enugu-Owerri expressway in a branded mass transit bus belonging to Enugu state government.

Mr. Olusemire stated that the seized items had a total duty paid value of over ninety million naira and warned those who engage in smuggling to have a rethink as the service would not relent in its effort to end illicit trade in the country.

The Nigeria Customs Service “Zone C” Owerri had within the last two weeks confiscated vehicles laden with over three thousand cartridges of live ammunition, foreign rice, vegetable oil and used clothes.
