NDLEA ARRESTS 20 ALLEGED DRUG DEALERS

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in Anambra State, says it has arrested 20 persons allegedly dealing in illicit drugs.

The Commander of the Agency in the State, Mr. Sule Momodu made this known, while briefing journalists in Awka.

The arrest is coming on the heels of the forth-coming general election in the country.

Mr. Momodu explained that the agency had raided many smoking joints across the state, in an attempt to ensure that smokers did not have access to the illicit drugs, the election period country.

He said those arrested would be prosecuted after investigations were concluded.

Mr. Momodu, who warned politicians against making the drugs available for their thugs, emphasized that the agency was battle ready to deal with anyone caught with illicit drugs in the state.

He maintained that the raid would continue until illicit drugs could not be accessed in the state.

The NDLEA Commander explained that it was the responsibility of security agencies to ensure that the general election was free of violence and.
