NATIONAL TASK FORCE RECOVERS ILLEGAL ARMS IN ABIA STATE

The operatives of the National Task Force, Abia State command have handed over some arms recovered from suspected hoodlums in Aba metropolis to the Nigeria Police Area Command, Zone 9 Umuahia.

Handing over the items, the State Director of the Command, Mr. Salis Ihemeremadu said the Task Force acted on information received that some suspected hoodlums were operating in Ariaria village, Osisioma in Isiala Ngwa Local Government Area.

Mr. Ihemeremadu listed some of the items recovered from the fled suspects and they included 3 locally made short guns, 10 cartridges, 1 empty cartridge, some quantities of substance suspected to be Indian hemp, military wears, and 2 lighters.

Receiving the items the Assistant Inspector General of Police Zone 9, represented by the Police Public Relations Officer of the zone, Janet Egwu-Chukwu commended the National Task force for the achievement recorded.

She gave an assured the citizens that the Police would continue to partner various security agencies as and the public in its efforts towards eradication of crime in the society.

She appealed to the public to always provide the police with vital information that would assist the Force in combating crime in the zone
