MORE CLERICS SPEAK ON THE LESSONS OF EASTER

Nigerian leaders and citizenry have been advised to make sacrificial contributions to reposition the country for greatness.

The General Superintendent, Assemblies of God, Nigeria, the Reverend Chidi Okoroafor, made the call while speaking with Radio Nigeria on the significance of Easter.

According to the Reverend Okoroafor, only the type of sacrifice made by Jesus Christ for mankind would effect the desired change in the society.

The General Superintendent noted that if Nigerians could set aside personal and sectional interest and put the nation first, all the problems being experienced by the people would be defeated.

He observed that the migration of the best brains in search of better living standards was causing more harm to the country and called on those aspiring to relocate to have a rethink and offer their services to better their fatherland.

On the significance of Easter, the Reverend Okoroafor explained that the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ brought man the hope of eternity and right standing with God.

He therefore urged the people to embrace the hope and assurance that as Jesus rose from the dead, so would Nigeria overcome all its current problems, stronger and better.

Still on Easter, the Enugu South District Superintendent of the Assemblies of God Church, the Reverend David Agu has called on leaders in the country to live a life of dedication and holiness to God.

This he said was the only way they could make positive impact in the lives of the people, emphasizing that Easter gave meaning to the Christian faith.

The Reverend Agu encouraged Christians to make the celebration real by surrendering their lives to Jesus Christ and avoid sin.

From Pastor Saviour Efanga of the Living Faith Church, Winners Chapel, Agbani road Enugu comes an appeal for Christians to imbibe the virtues of servant hood, compassion and sacrifice exemplified by Jesus while on earth for a better society.

Pastor Saviour Efanga explained that Easter was the essence of Christianity and showed the completeness of God’s love.

The man of God noted that the death of Christ on the cross of Calvary brought peace and global transformation to mankind.

Pastor Efanga called n leaders in the country to follow the servant-leadership example of Jesus.

The District Pastor emphasized that the season would bring healing and restoration to the country if the people learnt from Jesus Christ who is the reason for the season.

In a related development, the General Overseer the Old Path Revival Commission, Enugu, Pastor Alfred Itiowe has called on Christians all over the country to live a life of dedication and sacrifice just as Jesus Christ demonstrated to human kind.

Dr. Itiowo made the call in a message to mark the Easter celebration.

The General Overseer encouraged leaders and members of the public to look up to God for a better condition of things in the country as the death of Jesus Christ was to bring the best to humanity.

Dr. Itiowe appealed to leaders to learn to forgive one another and solve the economic problems of the country as a team.
