GOV. UGWUANYI COMPENSATES VICTIMS OF TIMBER MARKET FIRE DISASTER, ENUGU

Enugu State Government has reconstructed the section of the Enugu Timber Market that was gutted by fire, in keeping with the promise of Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi when he visited the scene.

A cheque of ₦7.2 million was also given to the affected traders to alleviate their plights.

The traders are to receive a 500 KV transformer and a water cistern toilet facility.

In a reaction, the Chairman of the Timber Union, Chief Livai Obi noted that the responsiveness of the Government to their plight was a big relief.

Also expressing their feelings, Chief Gilbert Nweke, Elder Richard Ezemma and Chief Michael Nwabufor noted that the interaction of the Government had resuscitated their lost hope and called for more precautionary measures to avert such incidents.

Two other victims who lost their goods and machines to the fire said the Governor had extended Easter love to them.
