MAN STABS 21 YEAR DAUGHTER TO DEATH IN AWGBU COMMUNITY

The Police Command in Anambra State says it has commenced investigation into the incident that led to the stabbing of a 21 year old girl to death by her father.

The Command’s Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Hariena Mohammed, told Radio Nigeria that the Suspect, Cletus Ajuluka, was apprehended by a combined team of Police and public spirited individuals in Awgbu, Orumba North Local Government Area, two days after he committed the crime.

He noted that the Suspect, if found guilty after investigations, would be prosecuted.

Mr. Ajuluka, a Palm wine tapper, over the weekend allegedly stabbed to death his 21 year old daughter after an argument over the whereabouts of his torch light.

An indigene of the area and eye witness, Mr. Sunny Egedege, narrated that when the Palm wine tapper brought out the machete, two of his children took to their heels while his wife also ran for safety before he stabbed his daughter, Onyinye, on the chest as she was sleeping inside the room.

Radio Nigeria Correspondent gathered that the late Onyinye had plated her hair in preparation for her traditional marriage which was scheduled to take place this week.
