The Anambra State House of Assembly has expressed disatisfaction with the level and quality of work done so far at some general hospitals in the state.

They are the General Hospital in Umueri, Ekwulobia and Enugwu Ukwu.

in an interview with Radio Nigeria, the Chairman House Committee on Health, Dr. Carter Umeh, said despite the funds released by the Soludo led administration, the firms handling the projects had not delivered as expected.

Dr. Umeh noted that even though the contractors were duly informed about the oversight visit by the legislative members, they all decided to be absent thereby not providing the needed explanations to why the set back in delivery.

The Health Committee Chairman said the level and quality of work done were not commensurate with the over 30% funds so far released to them by the government.

Dr. Umeh, while commending the step by the governor to upgrade and give the general hospitals the needed facelift, said the contractors seemed to be out to sabotage the gesture by not putting in what was expected.

He called on traditional rulers and community leaders in the state to always take ownership of projects being excuted by government in other to prevail on the firms to deliver according to specifications.

Dr. Umeh however appealed to the executive arm to always carry the people along while awarding contracts, as such step would enable the people to mornitor development and level of work done on such projects.

The House Committee Chairman on Health stated that for benefit of the doubt, the committee would revisit the hospitals with a view to understanding why the projects were not being executed in line with the vision of the present administration.
