JOB SCAM AT ENUGU PSYCHIATRIC HOSPITAL : COURT ADJOURNS UNTIL OCT. 19

Enugu High Court has adjourned the trial of a Senior Staff of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital, Enugu Mrs. Stella Achalla until October 19, 2018 over alleged job fee scam.

Hearing on the matter resumed July 13, 2018 before Justice C.O Ajah of the Enugu High Court. Mrs. Stella Achalla was accused of collecting money to the tune of ₦14 million from over 50 job seekers after which she could not offer them jobs.

The Investigating Police Officer (IPO), Chinyere Okeke, who was led in evidence by the persecutor, Mr. Njoku Umeh, told the court that several appointment letters and other items were found in the defendant’s house. The IPO added that curriculum vitae and credentials belonging to some of the complainants were also recovered during the search.

Both the prosecuting counsel, Damian Njoku-Umeh and the defense counsel, A.D Igwanokor, declined interview with newsmen after the court proceeding.
