IPMANAPPEALS TO SOUTH EAST GOVERNORS TO INTERVENE IN THE STRIKE BY PETROLEUM TANKER DRIVERS

The Chairman, Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria, IPMAN, Enugu, Mr. Tagbo Nnamani has appealed to the South East Governors to intervene in the industrial action by the Petroleum Tanker Drivers in Enugu Depot.

Mr. Nnamani condemned what he called the excesses of the tanker drivers.

He emphasized that there is no law stipulating that IPMAN members should be paying levies to the tanker drivers association other than the individual tanker drivers as agreed by each independent marketer.

Meanwhile, some staff of Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation, NNPC, Enugu Depot, have urged IPMAN Engu and the tanker drivers to resolve their differences for the economic stability of the country.

When Radio Nigeria visited the office of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers Association in Enugu, some members said that their chairman went to Awka, Anambra State to meet with Governor Willy Obiano over the industrial dispute.
