INEC DECLARES NOV 18 POLL IN ANAMBRA AS A TEST CASE OF FLAWLESS ELECTION IN THE COUNTRY
The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC says the November Eighteen governorship election in Anambra would be a test case of flawless electoral conduct by the commission in Nigeria.
The Director in charge of Voters’ Education Department of the Commission, Mr. Olawale Uzzi, stated this during Voter Education Providers Implementation Meeting held in Awka.
MrUzzi said that the commission required a total of six thousand, two hundred card reader machines for the conduct of the Anambra election, noting that more than five thousand machines were working optimally.
He said all the machines and other arrangements would be completed before the election.
The INEC official said the meeting was to sensitize stakeholders to their expectations to ensure massive participation of voters and success of the election.
The INEC Resident Electoral Commissionerin Anambra State, Dr. Nwachukwku Orji, said the commission was doing everything possible to ensure the people have confidence in the process.
