NIGERIANS ADVISED TO PROMOTE NATIONAL UNITY

images (4)A former head of State, General Abdulsalam  Abubakar has urged all Nigerians to ensure that peace reigned in the country.

He gave the advice in an event in Awka, Anambra State.

General Abubakar stressed the need for all hands to be on deck to bring meaningful development to the country.

In a speech, a former Chief of Army Staff, Retired General Theophilus Danjuma explained that even if the country was to be restructured, it should not be through violence.

He agreed that Nigeria could not afford to fight another civil war and insisted on the unity of the country.

In a remark, the Chairman of the occasion, retired General Ike Nwachukwu tasked leaders to ensure fairness, justice and equitable distribution of the nation’s resources.

He pleaded with Nigerians to ensure that the country remained united.

Also speaking on the occasion, a former Secretary-General of Commonwealth, Chief Emeka Anyoku said the country had everything needed to become a great nation.

Chief Anyaoku pointed out that Nigeria had the capacity to overcome its numerous challenges.
