IMO STATE TAKES PALLIATIVE RELIEF MATERIALS TO INMATES OF OWERRI PRISONS

Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State has distributed relief materials to inmates of the State Command of the Nigeria Correctional Service.

The relief materials are to serve as Easter gift and palliatives to cushion the effect of the hardship caused by the corona virus pandemic.

The Governor represented by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Oguwike Nwachuku, explained that the gesture was part of Governor’s magnanimity to every person in the state, including those behind the bar.

Mr. Nwachuku urged the leadership of the Command to use the items to take care of the inmates and extend the Governor’s goodwill messages to them. Responding, the Comptroller, Correctional Service Imo State Command, Mr. Chukwuemeka Okoye, thanked the Governor for the gesture.

Mr. OKoye commended the state government for good security achiteture that involved all the security agencies in the fight against crime. Thee items donated were coolers of jollof rice, cartons of soft drinks and tissue papers.
