IMO 2021 BUDGET: GOV UZODINMA SIGNS OVER #346BN INTO LAW

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has signed the over three hundred and forty-six billion naira appropriation bill into law to cater for its services in the 2021 financial year.

Performing the ceremony at the Government House Owerri, the Governor said the budget, which was christened “Budget of Wealth Creation,” was aimed at addressing poverty, unemployment and infrastructural decay in the state.

Governor Uzodimma, while commending the State legislature for giving the bill accelerated passage, promised to ensure full implementation of the budget.

The Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Chief Paul Emeziem, expressed optimism that the budget would put smiles on the faces of the people who yearned for good governance.

The budget, which was presented to the parliament on Wednesday December 16, 2020, had capital expenditure of two hundred and seventy-one point five billion naira representing seventy-eight percent while recurrent had seventy-four point six billion representing twenty-one point six percent allotted to it.
