ILLEGAL ARMS: POLICE ARREST THREE IN ANAMBRA

Police in Anambra State have arrested a major arms dealer alleged to be involved in illegal possession and sale of prohibited firearms in the state.

The breakthrough followed weeks of intensive surveillance by operatives of the Command.

A total of Twenty-Three Automatic Pump Action Guns and 625 live cartridges were recovered.

A statement by the Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga says so far, three suspects had been arrested in Onitsha while investigation was being expanded.

The statement added that the State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Aderemi Adeoye, commended the operatives involved in the operation on the instruction of the Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, who provided guidance throughout the operation.
