IKPEAZU ASSURES YOUTH CORPS MEMBERS OF SECURITY

Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State says the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, has over the years impacted positively on the lives of Nigerians, especially the youth.

Governor Ikpeazu made this known in a message to the swearing in of 2023 Batch A stream 2 corps members deployed to the state at the NYSC Permanent Orientation Camp in Umunna Bende Local Government Area of the state.

The Governor represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Chief Charles Esonu, said that his administration would continue to do its part towards providing corps members with the needed support and enabling environment for them to excel.

He said his administration was consciously taking every measure to ensure that the lives and property of youth corps members other citizens were protected.

He enjoined them to have patience and cooperate with the managers of the scheme in order to bring out the best in them during the exercise.

In a remark, the Coordinator NYSC Abia state, Mrs. Ufuoma Dick, said that 1,162 corps members have been duly registered and were ready for the programmme.

She noted that the three week orientation had been properly packaged to adequately instill in the participants the ideals and objectives of the scheme.
