GUNMEN KILL ANOTHER PG IN ANAMBRA

The Police Command in Anambra State has confirmed the killing of
the President General of Umuoji Community in Idemili North Local Government Area, Chief Silas Onyima, by yet to be identified persons.

Unknown persons on Friday allegedly broke into the house of the President General and killed him.

The community leader, who is popularly known as Chief Sly, was later discovered in the pool of his own blood naked, inside a bathtub in his bathroom.

An eye witness account said the yet to be identified hoodlums numbering about fifteen, stormed the deceased home in the evening and shot him dead.

The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Mr. Tochukwu Ikenga, told journalists that that upon receiving the information, the command immediately sent operatives to the scene where the body of the slain community leader was recovered.

He said the command was already working with locals to identify the killers.

Mr. Ikenga, however, called on the residents to remain law abiding as calm has been restored in the area.

The Police image maker promised to keep the media updated with development on the incident.

Radio Nigeria gathered that Chief Onyima is about the sixth President General to be killed in Anambra State within the past three years.
