GOVERNOR IKPEAZU ADVOCATES MORE FUNDING OF THE AGRIC SECTOR
Governor OkezieIkpeazu of Abia state has called for increase in thefunding of Federal Universities of Agriculture in the country to boost the Agriculture sector and food production.
The Governor who made the call at the Convocation ceremony of MichaelOkpara University of Agriculture Umudike, Abia State commended President MuhammaduBuhari for refocusing on agriculture as a way of revamping the nation’s economy.
In a message to the occasion, the Minister of Agriculture, Chief AuduOgbeh represented by the Director, Federal Ministry of Agriculture Abia State, Mr. EbereOziri noted that as part of efforts to promote agriculture, government had established an accelerated agricultural job scheme where ten thousand jobs were being created in each state of the federation for the youths.
